Course Overview

The commercial basis of every construction project.

Quantity surveying and estimation play a critical role in determining construction project costs, preparing competitive tenders, and establishing the commercial basis for project execution.

This practical course is designed to develop the technical skills required to perform quantity takeoffs, prepare BOQs, analyze construction rates, and build comprehensive tender estimates.

The course will primarily focus on pre-contract quantity surveying and estimation, while introducing selected post-contract applications such as remeasurement and variation valuation.

Through practical exercises and realistic construction project scenarios, participants will learn how to transform engineering drawings and specifications into structured quantities, pricing schedules, and cost estimates.

What You Will Learn

From construction drawings to a tender price.

  1. 01

Understand the role of quantity surveying throughout the construction project lifecycle.

  2. 02

Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and measurement requirements.

  3. 03

Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for civil, structural, and architectural works.

  4. 04
